Overview

What is NGO Darpan?

NGO Darpan is an online interface portal developed by NITI Aayog (formerly Planning Commission of India) in partnership with National Informatics Centre (NIC). It serves as a central database and transparency platform for NGOs/VOs (Voluntary Organizations) working in India.

A Unique Identification Number (UID) from the NGO Darpan portal is mandatory for any NGO/VO wishing to apply for grants from central government ministries and departments. Without this UID, an NGO cannot access Central Government funding schemes.

The portal promotes transparency by making NGO profiles, financials, and activities publicly accessible. It also facilitates government-NGO partnerships for implementing social welfare schemes across India. Registration is completely free of charge and is done online.
